| Take it from someone who used to work there-MGM Blaine is a canker sore on Blaine. The prices are ridiculous, the selection can't beat a corner store and what's more? The owner was recently arrested for hiring his 16 year old daughter to work 40+ hour weeks. That's wrong for many reasons but the legal reasons are that you have to be 18 to sell liquor in this state and you have to be 18 to work over 20 hours in a week. |

This place has horrible customer service and if the owner doesn't agree with you he'll call the police!!! I bought a keg from them for New Year's Eve (which required a $35 deposit) and brought it back in perfect condition 2 weeks later only to be told by the owner that he wouldn't be giving me my deposit back because I didn't bring it back within 5 days. That would have been fine if someone told me this! Or if I signed something stating this! But no one told me and I didn't sign anything saying it needed to be back within 5 days. After trying to rationally explain this to the owner he said, "NO! You won't be getting your money back!" I said, "I bet your tune would be different if this place was full of customers" (it was empty). He then proceeded to call the police on me saying I was trespassing. I waited for a while for the police to show up but they never did. I left and decided to make sure to let people know what happened so that hopefully it won't happen again. DO NOT BUY FROM HOB NOB ROB'S!!! |

| Avoid this company like the plague! They advertise hard to find wines at good prices, take your order and charge your credit card right away, then - weeks later - tell you the item is not available. They then ignore your calls (if you could even get through) and e-mails and put through the charge anyway. Thankfully, I used American Express for the charge and their dispute resolution is great. Anyone who tells you this is among "the best online wine shops" has either had no dealings with them, or is a part owner! |

| G.B. Russo & Son is a WONDERFUL specialty food and wine store!! Every time I go there, I have a great shopping experience! I'm a beer and wine connoisseur, and they have the best variety and cheapest prices around. I enjoy the aroma of the fresh bread and spices in the store too! They just expanded, doubling their size and product selection! Their home-made deli and frozen food selection has gotten even bigger & they have TONS of food from all over the world! No other store around compare. This place is a "mom-and-pop" shop with a delicious gourmet international food and wine selection. You would think that all gourmet food stores are going to be more expensive than the big box stores, but they really aren't! Yet, with Michigan's crappy economy, and the ever-rising Euro, unfortunately nothing is going to be cheap these days! They are a locally owned family business (that I think has been open for over a century!), and shopping at places like that will help support Michigan's economy! What I really like about them is that they are small and family-owned, so you feel more welcome there and they have caring and helpful employees that will give you a more personalized shopping experience. I would recommend them to anyone that enjoys fine food and wine, along with a great shopping experience! |

While each state as their own local laws pertaining to wine sales, a new avenue for wine shopping is emerging. In the past few years, it used to be difficult to purchase wine online and have it shipped to local address. Some states would allow you to have it shipped to a local wine shop, but you would then have to drive to the shop to pick up your wine and they often be subjected to a handling fee. Many states have now relaxed these laws and online wine purchases can often be sent to your home address. So next time you find a Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot noir, or Zinfandel that you enjoy check online wines for availability. If you buy the case, you often get a substantial discount.
